Could someone explain what LJ has done with Facebook? I haven't seen anything on my homepage or anything, and I will admit I'm a tad confused with the recent ire I've been reading. I'm sure it's quite justified, I just feel out of the loop. Perhaps because I don't have a paid account? :/

I don't know what kind of account it concerns. LJ has decided that a person can cross post their comments to facebook and twitter.

Like right now for example at the bottom of the comment as I'm typing this there's a repost to settings for Facebook and Twitter. It's annoying but as long as you don't have it set up to cross post then you can just ignore them

I see that now. The little boxes don't annoy me too much...unless this means the material I post can be cross-posted or tracked. I don't like that much.

I have now received several ping-back bot emails from LJ, however. This is pretty irritating. I would like to know the option to turn those off.

You can disable the pingback bot

Go to your profile, hold the mouse over it and then click settings, then click privacy, scroll down until you see pingbacks, click disable and then save.

Supposedly that's supposed to keep it from working on your journal. But so far it hasn't worked for me.
